AI in education and database research: A Necessary Conversation

Artificial intelligence (AI) is not only changing industry and academia; it is rewriting the “rules of the game.” In this context, it is important to reflect on the short- and long-term consequences of how AI can contribute (or not) to teaching and research in various, if not all, disciplines. This 90-minute panel discussion will focus on disciplines and research involving databases, including data engineering and data science. The panelists, with varying levels of experience and academic background, will present and discuss their opinions and experiences on the topic. Following this, the audience will have ample opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the discussion, making the panel a participatory event.
