DS4SG aims to discuss how research in Data Science can contribute to solving challenging problems faced by today’s societies, such as promoting public health, public safety, and sustainable development, among others. With this purpose, DS4SG will bring together professionals from different strands of Data Science research and will address a wide variety of application domains, providing a forum to share initiatives and create opportunities for future collaboration. In this sense, DS4SG seeks to attract papers that present applications and methods of Data Science aimed at Social Good, that is, those that seek to tackle the important and urgent challenges of contemporary society. The submission of multidisciplinary works is strongly encouraged, involving, in addition to computing, other areas of knowledge such as sociology, journalism, law, theology, among others.
Papers submitted to DS4SG must be written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish, must include an abstract in English, follow the SBC format, have between 6 and 10 pages, and be submitted electronically in PDF format via JEMS. Paper submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria: relevance to the DS4SG scope, significance, technical quality, originality, and clarity. Papers describing preliminary and ongoing work may also be submitted. Results are desirable but not mandatory. All papers must include a section explaining related work.
Papers will be peer-reviewed, and accepted papers will be published in the proceedings and must be presented during the workshop as well as in poster format. DS4SG will be held in person, with live presentations. Therefore, at least one of the authors must be registered in SBBD/DS4SG and present the accepted work. Submissions must be made through the JEMS system.
The use of generative AI tools (such as LLMs) must be explicitly declared by the authors at submission time, briefly indicating their purpose (e.g., language revision, assistance with text structuring, generation of examples). Full responsibility for the content remains with the human authors, including the verification of all bibliographic references. By submitting papers to SBBD 2026, authors acknowledge that they are in compliance with the SBC Code of Conduct for Authors.
Os artigos aceitos serão publicados na SBC Open Lib, a biblioteca digital da SBC, na série Anais Estendidos do Simpósio Brasileiro de Banco de Dados, ISSN 2966-3946. Todos os artigos serão indexados com DOI.
