CALL FOR FAPESP SUPPORT:
AUTHORS FROM SÃO PAULO STATE

The Organizing Committee of the 41st Brazilian Symposium on Databases (SBBD 2026) will submit a collective request for Support for Participation in Scientific Meetings to FAPESP, intended for researchers holding a doctoral degree and employed at research institutions in the state of São Paulo.

The support will cover the payment of:

a) Individual or collective transportation expenses;
b) Daily allowances, according to the rules described and the value tables available at fapesp.br/valores;
c) Registration fee: Reimbursement of the registration fee will be requested, but it will depend on a specific evaluation by FAPESP, based on the justifications presented by the event organizers.

The approved funds will be released to the researchers after the event, upon submission of the documents required by FAPESP for financial reporting (certificates of participation and presentation, receipts and proof of travel tickets, etc.).

To participate in the collective request, the researcher must meet the criteria established in item 5 of the FAPESP regulations:

  • Present a paper at SBBD of which they are an author or co-author and that resulted from FAPESP funding, in the form of a grant or fellowship, completed no more than 3 (three) years before the start date of the event. Such support must be explicitly mentioned in the paper abstract (FAPESP Process Number and Acknowledgments to FAPESP);
  • Hold a Doctoral degree or equivalent qualification, and have significant scientific or technological production;
  • Have an employment relationship with a research institution in the state of São Paulo (see item 5.2 at: https://fapesp.br/auxilios/organizacao);
  • Not receive Complementary Benefits from ongoing Grants or Technical Reserve from ongoing Fellowships granted by FAPESP.

Prior approval of the paper by the event is not required in order to apply to this collective request.

Note: Researchers from other states must request support from their local state research foundations (FAPs).
