About SBBD
The Premier Brazilian Conference on Data Science and Big Data
The Brazilian Database Symposium (SBBD) is the official event of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) on science and technology in the field of databases. It is the main Brazilian conference and the largest in Latin America on data science and big data. SBBD is promoted annually by the Special Commission on Databases (CEBD) of SBC and involves the national and international scientific, academic and industrial communities. The event covers issues in data management, database and information systems research, data science, big data and other related topics, considering data as a technological cornerstone of emerging applications.
Along with technical sessions with the presentation of selected and carefully evaluated scientific papers, there will be activities that include developed tools (demos), a workshop of Ph.D. and M.Sc. research papers, and also of undergraduate students. The symposium will have invited lectures, tutorials and mini-courses given by distinguished professors and researchers from the national and international community. The SBBD is a forum for the presentation and discussion of important and recent themes in the area, bringing together students, researchers, professionals, suppliers, government and society in general for the dissemination of research results and innovation, promoting the exchange of knowledge and technological updating of the participants.
As in previous years, SBBD will be co-located with the Symposium on Knowledge Discovery, Mining and Learning (KDMiLe 2023). SBBD registrants will be entitled to participate in KDMiLe and vice-versa.
