MAIN TRACK

FULL PAPERS

Submissions in this category should present research results and discuss any SBBD topics of interest. There are three equally important categories of full papers: (i) Regular Research Papers, (ii) Vision Papers, and (iii) Industrial or Application Papers.

Full papers must be written in Portuguese or English and not exceed 14 pages, according to the SBC template. Important: pages 13 and 14 are considered extra pages and must be used exclusively for references. In other words, a full paper can have up to 12 pages plus two extra pages solely for references. We strongly encourage authors to cite papers published in previous editions of SBBD.

The use of generative AI tools (such as LLMs) must be explicitly declared by the authors at submission time, briefly indicating their purpose (e.g., language revision, assistance with text structuring, generation of examples). Full responsibility for the content remains with the human authors, including the verification of all bibliographic references. By submitting papers to SBBD 2026, authors acknowledge that they are in compliance with the SBC Code of Conduct for Authors.

Full papers submitted to SBBD must not have been simultaneously submitted to any other forum (conference or journal) nor have already been published elsewhere. Accepting a paper implies that at least one of its authors will register for the symposium to present it. Papers must be submitted by the deadline through the JEMS website.

Submitted papers will undergo a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other. Therefore, in the submitted paper, authors must omit any information that would allow for authorship identification. The papers will be reviewed based on originality, relevance, technical soundness, and clarity of presentation. Industrial or application papers will be reviewed based on innovation potential.

SBBD full papers will undergo a two-round review process for borderline papers, allowing authors to view a version of the reviews and submit a rebuttal to defend their paper against the reviewers’ comments. In the rebuttal, the authors may propose a few adjustments to address minor issues and improve the paper for potential acceptance.

Questions regarding the submission of FULL papers may be directed to parros@icmc.usp.br.

SHORT PAPERS

Short papers should present initial results or work in progress on any topic of interest to SBBD. As with full papers, they may be classified as: (i) Regular Research Papers, (ii) Vision Papers, or (iii) Industrial or Application Papers. Submissions must be written in Portuguese or English and must not exceed 7 pages, following the SBC template. Important: page 7 is considered an extra page and must be used exclusively for references (i.e., up to 6 pages of content plus one page only for references).

Short papers submitted to SBBD must not be simultaneously submitted to any other forum (conference or journal) and must not have been previously published elsewhere. Acceptance of a paper implies that at least one of its authors must register for the symposium to present it. Submissions are made via JEMS and will undergo double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed. Therefore, authors must omit any information that could identify authorship in the submitted paper. Papers will be evaluated based on originality, relevance, technical soundness, and clarity. Industrial or application papers will also be evaluated based on their innovation potential.

Questions regarding short paper submissions should be directed to monteiro@dc.ufc.br (José Maria da Silva Monteiro Filho).

Accepted papers will be published in the SBC Open Lib, the SBC digital library, in the Proceedings of the Brazilian Symposium on Databases series (ISSN 2763-8979). All papers will be assigned a DOI.
