{"id":288,"date":"2024-07-05T14:01:10","date_gmt":"2024-07-05T17:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbbd.org.br\/2024\/?page_id=288"},"modified":"2024-10-14T14:13:13","modified_gmt":"2024-10-14T17:13:13","slug":"maratonasql","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sbbd.org.br\/2024\/en\/maratonasql\/","title":{"rendered":"SQL Marathon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c5fddfce57a31f416dce14d42de60c35\"><strong>Aten\u00e7\u00e3o: o aquecimento e a maratona ocorrer\u00e3o dia 15\/10 somente 16:30-18:30h<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fourth edition of the SQL Marathon is coming!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by the programming marathon of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), the SQL Marathon aims primarily to attract technical high school students <strong>undergraduates<\/strong>, <strong>and IT<\/strong> professionals <strong>to the<\/strong> field of Databases, specifically to the most important national event in the field \u2013 The Brazilian Symposium on Databases (SBBD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus, the competition will measure the participants' ability to solve problems using SQL (Structured Query Language), the standard language for accessing relational databases. For this, a database schema with its instance will be provided. The solutions (queries) will be evaluated for correctness and the number of submissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each team will consist of up to <strong>3 (three) people<\/strong>, with the following possible compositions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>High school level:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 students currently in high school + 1 undergraduate student, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 students currently in high school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>College level:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 undergraduate students + 1 graduate student, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 undergraduate students + 1 graduate student, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 undergraduate students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams can only use one computer to solve up to six problems in up to <strong>six<\/strong> 2.5 <strong>hours<\/strong>Each team is responsible for bringing their own computer. Remember that computers can fail. Therefore, have a backup device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams may use printed books, articles, or manuals. The database management system used in the marathon will be <strong>PostgreSQL<\/strong>. Therefore, knowledge of its SQL syntax is necessary.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The classification of the teams will be based on the number of problems solved. The tiebreaker criterion will be the fewest number of submissions. We will have 2 (two) winning teams: high school and college.
