Full papers must be high-quality, original, and previously unpublished submissions in data management theory, technology, or practice. Submissions in this category should present research results and discussion in any of the SBBD topics of interest<\/a>. SBBD invites full papers according to the following equally-important categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We suggest all full papers to make their code, data, scripts, and notebooks available if this is possible. Although it is not mandatory for acceptance, providing this extra material can help reviewers evaluate your work more thoroughly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RESEARCH<\/strong>: Scientific papers with contributions to the research in the area of \u200b\u200bSBBD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VISION<\/strong>: Vision papers should present new problems, new application domains, or new methodologies that are likely to stimulate significant new research and discussions. Vision papers are supposed to convince the audience that the idea at hand is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and\/or validated results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INDUSTRIAL or APPLICATION<\/strong>: Industrial papers present novel real-world applications of data management systems and experience in applying recent research advances to real-world problems. Real-world problems may arise from the Industry, Society, Government, Scientific Community, or other kinds of companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submission Instructions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Submissions in this category should present research results and discussion in any of the SBBD topics of interest. There are three equally-important categories of full papers: (i) Regular Research Papers; (ii) Vision Papers and (iii) Industrial or Application Papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of submission, full papers must include a category (Research, Vision or Industrial\/Application).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full papers must be written in Portuguese or English and not exceed 12 pages, according to the SBC template. Full papers submitted to SBBD must not have been simultaneously submitted to any other forum (conference or journal), nor have already been published elsewhere. The acceptance of a paper implies that at least one of its authors will register for the symposium to present it. Papers must be submitted by the deadline through the JEMS website<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submitted papers will undergo a ”double-blind” reviewing process, where the authors’ identities are concealed from the reviewers, and the reviewers’ identities are hidden from the authors. The papers will be reviewed based on originality, relevance, technical soundness, and clarity of presentation. Particularly, industrial or application papers will also be reviewed based on innovation context and potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SBBD full papers will have a two-round review process for borderline papers where the authors get to see a version of the reviews and are allowed to write a rebuttal to defend their paper against the comments of the reviewers. In the rebuttal, the authors may propose to do a few things to fix small problems in the paper for the final camera-ready version of the paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering the topics of interest of SBBD (solely or together), the authors of papers submitted to the conference should follow some recommendations<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
