for Short Courses"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>SBBD 2019 PRESENTATION<\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">The Brazilian Database Symposium (SBBD) is the official event of the <\/span><span class=\"\" title=\"\">of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) and the <\/span><span title=\"\">largest event in Latin America for presentation and discussion of <\/span><span title=\"\">search results related to the area.<\/span> <span title=\"\">The SBBD <\/span><span title=\"\">researchers, students and professionals from Brazil and abroad, <\/span><span title=\"\">to discuss themes related to the latest advances in the Bank area <\/span><span title=\"\">of Data.<\/span> <span title=\"\">In addition to technical sessions, the symposium also includes lectures<\/span><span title=\"\"> invited guests, thesis and dissertation workshop, demos session and<\/span><span title=\"\"> tools, tutorials and mini-courses presented by researchers of<\/span><span title=\"\"> renowned national and international community.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"\">In its 34th edition, the SBBD will be held from 7 to 10 October 2019<\/span><span title=\"\"> in the city of Fortaleza, Cear\u00e1.<\/span> <span title=\"\">This year, SBBD will be organized by <\/span><span title=\"\">Federal University of Cear\u00e1 (UFC) and the Centro Universit\u00e1rio 7 de <\/span><span title=\"\">September (UNI7).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>IMPORTANT DATES<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"\">Deadline for submission of mini-course proposals: <del>May 17, 2019<\/del> (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">HARD DEADLINE: May 24, 2019<\/span>);<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"\">Notification of acceptance: June 21, 2019;<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">Submission of the final version (slides and text): July 31, 2019.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>SBBD 2019 SHORT COURSES<\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"\">The mini-courses of the SBBD are short-term events aimed at <\/span><span title=\"\">provide an introductory or advanced overview of current <\/span><span title=\"\">research and \/ or technology that are of interest to the communities of<\/span><span title=\"\"> Database.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">With this, the listener has the opportunity to learn <\/span><span class=\"\" title=\"\">on a new subject linked to its area of <\/span><span class=\"\" title=\"\">extract elements that can be applied in their scientific studies <\/span><span title=\"\">and \/ or profession. <\/span><span class=\"\" title=\"\">The mini-courses should be 4 hours long and presented in <\/span><span class=\"\" title=\"\">Portuguese or English, with the target audience being students from <\/span><span class=\"\" title=\"\">undergraduate, postgraduate and \/ or area professionals.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">INSTRUCTIONS AND SUBMISSION<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<header id=\"gb\" class=\"gb_ja gb_Pa gb_Od gb_rc gb_la gb_9b\" role=\"banner\">\n<div class=\"gb_Td\">\n<div class=\"gb_6b gb_4b gb_9b\">\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">Initial proposals should be limited to 5 (five) pages in the template of SBC&#8217;s book chapter, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">title of mini-course;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">authors (maximum 3);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">abstract (up to 200 words);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">indication of target audience (for proposals with a<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">interdisciplinary), with specification and justification of<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">prerequisites;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">text summary with a description for each of the summary topics;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">indication of why the course is interesting and should attract attention;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">the target audience;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">brief curriculum of the authors;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">indication of which author will present the course;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">the necessary computational and audiovisual resources.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">The submission of mini-course proposals must be carried out directly by email to [maryoko at gmail.com] with subject &#8220;[SBBD2019] Submission of Mini-Resource Proposal &#8220;. In the email must include the identification of the author (s) and a file as an attachment, in PDF format, with the mini-course proposal. It is recommended that the file does not exceed 2MB, although the submission of larger files is also possible. Proposals will be evaluated according to their originality, relevance, presentation and affinity with the target audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The initial proposals accepted will participate in a new phase, in which should be more detailed in a text with a minimum of 20 pages and maximum of 30 pages.
